         On 24 March at "Ivan Vazov" Secondary school, on the initiative of Ralitsa Dimova, a teacher of physical culture and sports, held a competition "Young Olympian. Students from the 8 classes, divided into 3 teams went in for a competition. The teams bore the names of the symbols of this year's Winter Olympics in Canada: "Miga", "Sumi” and Kuatchi. Special guests were Veneta Pehlivanova – a Chairman of  company Trakiets and Penka Stoyanova, a former national basketball competitor. Both are worthy to represent Bulgaria in the Olympics.
          The race has turned into a few rounds.
At the start each team provide a presentation about the winter sports / Ski jump, Curling and Skating /. In the second round participants answered the questions related to the history of the Olympic Movement, IOC and Olympic Committee, Olympic symbols, winter sports. Then the students solved a crossword, including Olympic cities. Finally, they had the task to convey the message of the Olympic movement "Sport for a united peaceful world through Morse code. 
          Mrs. Stoyanova and Mrs.Pehlivanova recounted memories of the years of
their  sports activities, from their holdings of Olympiads and made their messages to the young generation. They surprised the participants  with an invitation to visit the Rowing base in Plovdiv.  They gave medals and certificates to the students.

A meeting on the project "UNITED IN CULTURAL DIVERSITY" PDF Print

        From 16th   to 23nd  of March 2010  "Ivan Vazov" Secondary school hosted students and teachers on the project "UNITED IN CULTURAL DIVERSITY" by a programme Comenius.
         At the meeting attended  13 students and 12 teachers from Greece, Poland, Romania and Turkey, as well as 10 students and 7 teachers from our school.
       All had the opportunity to know
each other and  became good friends. Guests learned a lot of about  Bulgarian history, our town and our beautiful nature. They went sightseeing in Sopot, Karlovo, Hissar, Koprivshtitsa, Starosel, Veliko Turnovo, Plovdiv and Sofia.
       Students from dance classes impressed them  the variety of Bulgarian folklore.
Guests tasted traditional dishes, jam of roses and rose liqueur.
the cultural diversity we have found common in traditions, food, and even languages. All participants left with fond memories, countless pictures and of course  new friendship.

Mister and Miss 2010 PDF Print

       Everybody is smiling and feeling high. That's because today will be held the competition for "Miss" and "Mister". After classes the candidates started to march past. The selection was difficult for the many beautiful and intelligent players. With a storm of applauses, crowd chants and posters the students were supporting their favorites. After the awards there were a tearful and happy, satisfied and dissatisfied. But at every competition the winner is one.
