On June 14, 2012 in Sopot Minister of Defense - Anyu Angelov discovered a monument of Major-General Georgi Vazov and Major-General Vladimir Vazov. The memorial complex was placed next to their native house at the town center. It consists of two busts of Bulgarian generals presented in their military uniforms. The monuments are work of the sculptor Dishko Dishkov. They are built with the assistance from the Ministry of Defence and with some donations from citizens. The monument consecrated His Reverence Archimandrite Arsenii. Representatives of state and local governments, citizens and guests attended at the ceremony. A representative group of students and teachers from "Ivan Vazov" Secondary School participated in the celebration. We paid tribute to these two worthy Bulgarians with flowers and a minute of silence.
