On 20th March 2019, the Day of the fairy tale was celebrated. It was first mentioned in Sweden as a storyteller's day. Every year a different theme is defined for this day. This year it was dedicated to myths and legends.

The school library at the “Ivan Vazov” Secondary school, Sopot, has opened wide doors to translate children through the long journey that the tale has travelled for thousands of years, from the traditions, myths and legends to the written words. Interesting lessons were held in different classes.

The teaching material in literature in the 5th grade is subordinated to the subject. Fifth grade students learned about the origins of the gods, the Beginning of the world, they read fairy tales. Current readings for the moment are "The Lightning Thief" by Rick Reardon. The history book took them on a journey in the past. They celebrated the Fairy Day with projects for Ancient Greece and Ancient Thrace. At the English language, the students of the 6th grade, reading the legend of Orpheus and Eurydice, told the legend of King Arthur, recalled the immortal knights, the Templars, Robin Hood, the ancient Greek gods.

The geography class in 7th.B class started with the legends of Vitosha and Lyulin, of Rila and Pirin, of their children Iskar and Mesta, of the Devil's Throat. The students learned about the origins of the names of the towns of Karlovo and Kalofer. The children from the Club "A Magic Pearl" read legends from the Bulgarian folklore about Krali Marko, goblins and wood nymphs.
