Students and teachers from “ Ivan Vazov” Secondary school regenerated a rusty tradition: the daily procession for the Day of Bulgarian education and culture and Slavonic alphabet. At 10.00 o’clock a traditional column of students and teachers went to the centre of Sopot, led by the school flag and an icon of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius. Students from the 1st class proudly carried high up just received certificates for an successfully completed school year. Cheerleaders, dancers and happy children with flowers and flags followed them.
Students from 7a class presented a garland at the monument of Ivan Vazov to the men of Enlightenment in sign of gratitude. The Mayor of Sopot, Mr. Veselin Lichev, opened the ceremony with a greeting to all teachers, students and citizens. Traditionally, he prizes awards for student and teacher of the year for each of the schools in the city. Title and the award of the Municipality of Sopot for school "Ivan Vazov "- “ The best teacher of the academic year”and “The best student of the academic year” received Mrs. Ivelina Dusova – an assistant-headmistress and Lilia Prandzheva –a school leaver. A holiday concert was attended by vocal groups, choirs, dance groups and mazhorets chambers from all schools in the city.
