From 13 to 19 February 2011 the 6th meeting was held in Istanbul, Turkey on the project „Beyond Words" from multilateral school partnership, funded by Comenius. The Host School "Emlak Konut Mimarsinan" is situated in an area of Istanbul, Turkey - Byuyukchekmedzhe. Representatives from eight schools located in eight European countries - Spain, Netherlands, Romania, Greece, Finland, Italy, Turkey took part in the meeting. Our representatives Mrs. Radostina Georgieva – Headmistress of „Ivan Vazov" Secondary School, Mr Iliya Petkov – a school coordinator and students - Fatma Sadulova and Sheriphe Mazdrak from grade VI, Stela Atanasova, Kristina Petkova and Melis Rashid from grade VII, and Nikolai Smolinski Slavcho Pankov from grade XI.


In the workshops, Mr. Ili
ya Petkov presented a presentation entitled "Cartoon as an expression of freedom of speech, political opinion, citizenship and moral beliefs in Bulgaria and a funny short film produced by Nikolai Smolinski, in which our most young students share what they know about Turkey, its history, geography and culture. Our students presented the product which they made on "A symbol of peace, freedom and happiness in Bulgaria and participated in various activities, together with their European friends.
”The kind hosts from school "Emlak Konut Mimarsinan" showed us the most important sights of the huge and cosmopolitan city of Istanbul. We visited the Blue Mosque, St. Sophia, Sarah Topkapi, Dolmabahce Palace, Military Museum and also we traveled by ferry (and later by cab) to the Princes Islands, walked up on Taksim Square and Istiklyal Street - the center of modern Istanbul and looked the beautiful shores of the Bosphorus by boat”, told us Mr. Petkov
The next meeting of partners
on the project "Beyond Words" will hold from 27 April to 2 May 2011 and will be hosted by our school.
