From 26th to 30th October in the city of Wroclaw, Poland held the first meeting of the new international project of “Ivan Vazov’ Secondary School in Sopot – “National Parks of Europe”

Ivelina Dusova – assistant- headmistress, Iliya Petkov - school –coordinator, Nicholai Smolinski from12th grade and Marina Moneva from 10th grade presented three National parks in Bulgaria - Pirin, Rila and Central Balkan. Participants from Poland, Italy, Turkey, Croatia, Hungary and Lithuania looked with interest the presentation of our unique animate and inanimate nature in its purest form. Besides the presentation of the National parks of the partner countries in the project, students participated in the preparation of posters dedicated to National parks. The presentation of posters dedicated to the Central Balkan National Park by students from Hungary and Lithuania was interesting and affecting. The host from the city of Wroclaw have requested to the visiting of the National park "Stulove Gur," located on the Polish-Czech border and filled with bizarre rock formations and cracks. There was a meeting with the mayor of the city of Wroclaw, who is proud of an incredible economic and cultural success of the capital of “Dolna Silesia”. Further work of the team of teachers and students from „Ivan Vazov" Secondary School in Sopot will be consist in researching and presenting Central Balkan National Park and comparing its flora, fauna, geology and geography with the national parks of other partner countries. The project "National Parks of Europe" is financed by sub-program "Comenius" from the Center for Human Resources Development in Bulgaria, a program of the European Commission.
