On May 18, 2012, a ceremony at the school “Ivan Vazov” began with a ritual for transmission and reception of a symbol of the school - the flag. It is a story of success, achievements and honors of the long and hard work of all. This flag - clean and pure is the responsibility of the proudest. Four years Nicholay Smolinski, Donka Atanasova and Ivelina Mineva from 12 grade had the honor. At the meeting of 17 May 2012 Teachers Council chose Anton Georgiev, Evgenia Licheva and Katya Karnakova. They gave an oath to wear and honor it and to keep it clean and pure.

Traditionally on the Eve of May 24 in "Ivan Vazov" Secondary School, Sopot, some students were awarded with "Student of the Year." They expressed at school, municipal, regional and national competitions, sporting events, concerts, competitions and participation in international projects.

Mrs. Georgieva Radostina – Headmaster of the school congratulated the nominees and award them certificates. Special gifts with the award “ The best student of the year 2012 at “ Ivan Vazov” Secondary School” were received by:

- Detelina Ivanova Cheshmedjieva from 5б class – First Degree

- Angelina Nikolaeva Lazarova from 7г class – Second Degree

- Plamena Vidolova Berberova from 11a class – Third Degree

Certificates for special merit received school leavers- Nikolay Smolinski, Angelina Pencheva, Ivelina Mineva, Diana Manolova, Stiliyana Stoyanova and Donka Atanasova. Donka Atanasova was nominated for the prize of the Mayor of Sopot "Student of the Year" as well.
