May 24th was the last school day for the pupils from 1st Grade of ‘Ivan Vazov’ Secondary School and for their teachers – Mrs. Radka Klaklova, the class teacher and Mrs. Stefka Angelova, the tutor. Their last lesson was carried out in the oldest school of Sopot, called ‘Radino uchilishte ‘ , the Female School. The pupils were impressed by the desks of our ancestors , by the exhibits and the lecture. Their proud parents were guests of that lesson. The 2nd Grade is coming … There was a procession in honour of The Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture and Slavic Script, and all students and teachers from Ivan Vazov Secondary school involved in. The Bulgarian flag and the icon of Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius were at head of the procession. Flowers were presented to the monument of Ivan Vazov by our students. Mr. Veselin Lichev, Sopot mayor, hold speech and awarded prizes ‘The Teacher of the Year’ and ‘The Student of the Year’. From our school, Mrs. Milanka Enkova, the teacher of Bulgarian language and literature received the prize ‘The Teacher of the Year’ and Plamena Berberova from 12th Grade got the prize ‘The Student of the Year’. Students from Ivan Vazov Secondary school performed a folklore show ‘Fire-dancers’ in the town festival.
The day finished with a traditional secondary -school students’ farewell ball. School leavers seemed very smart and elegant in their outfits. They enjoyed themselves and had a great time at the night. / See photos in "Gallery"/ |
