The National Olympiad in history and civilization is organized in three levels by the Ministry of Education and Science together with the Regional Inspectorates of Education and the Faculty of History at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski "and schools. The National Olympics is allowed to students from VII to XII classes. The host of the Olympiad is Plovdiv Municipality this year. The Olympiad is held in two parts: the first part - test / 18april / and oral communication /April 19, 2015/.  Lachezar Georgiev Petkov is a student at High school “Ivan Vazov”, Sopot who was admitted to the national Olympiad. 21 participants take part in the final level and 17 of them have excellent marks.

Lachezar’s result is 5.70, and it is the highest result in the Plovdiv region. This prize allows him to continue his education at Classical High School in Sofia. History is his favourite subject. He is at the second place in national rankling, but his wish is just to demonstrate knowledge. His interest of History is over the school curriculum. He reads everything about the Victorian era, the Middle Ages, he is  also interested in everything related to World War II. At the oral communication he had difficulty about Pythagoras because he is good at Math, but he shown a wide general knowledge. At the ceremony, the chairman of the committee and dean of the Faculty of History  at Sofia University prof. Plamen Mitev applauded him and expressed a great satisfaction of the results. The all winners won medals and received books filled with the most important themes of Bulgarian History.
