As a result of the tradition, the days before the Day of Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture (24^th May) are dedicated to giving awards “ A Student of the Year” to some very active students from High School “Ivan Vazov”, Sopot. There were nominated 38 students from 1^st to 10 th grade. At the official ceremony they were greeted by the headmaster of the school – Radostina Georgieva, who also gave them the certificates. The prizes “ A student of the year – Second degree” were given to both students Anna Dobrinova Macheva and Krasimira Kalinova Yordanova from seventh class. The prize "Student of the Year – First degree" was given to Velin Yordanov Dimov also from 7^th class. As the incentive awards, there were certificates given to:  Marten Teodorov Dobroykov of 1^st A class for excellent performance at the competition "Mathematics without Borders",  Lachezar  Georgiev Petkov from 7^th A  class for dignified performance at the National Olympiad in History and civilization, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science, jointly with the Regional Inspectorates for Education, Faculty of History of  Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski "and  Ventsislav Deianov Petkanchev of 7^th A grade- for his  active participation in all cultural events organized by and at  school.
