Plamen Christozov is the winner in Sixth School level of the National Spelling English Spelling Bee. The competition was held on 1st March, 2016 at high School "Ivan Vazov ", Sopot. Plamen Christozov spelled correctly the word “PHOTO”, and beat Nenko Kovachev in the last round. Both students are qualified for the Regional level of the competition on March 26, 2016 in Plovdiv. Spelling Bee is a competition in which participants have to spell different words in English. From 27th February to 2nd March more than 6500 students, at the age up to 14 years, participated in 274 school competitions in the country. All of them had to prepare a list of 500 words in advance. The aim of the competition is to increase students' interest in English learning and to improve their knowledge through fun and interactive activities. In Bulgaria the competition has been launched since 2011 by the idea of ​​volunteers from the Peace Corps.The winner in the last year's competition was thirteen-year old Theodore ENCHEV from OU "Dimitar Blagoev ", Veliko Tarnovo. The competition is organized by the " Housing for education and development - KORPlyuS ." It is implemented in partnership with the Foundation " America for Bulgaria " , the US Embassy and under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Science.
