On the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture the square of Sopot was filled with children, teachers, parents and citizens. This brightest Bulgarian holiday began with the song "Walk People Revived", with wreaths around the portraits of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, with flowers for the beloved teachers, paying tribute to the poet who wrote "that we have given something to the world and to All Slovene books to read ". A lot of solemn words and greetings were given by Mr. Deyan Doynov - Mayor of Sopot Municipality and Mrs. Mariana Katsarova – the chairman of the Municipal Council. Traditionally, on this day the mayor handed the Teacher of the Year and Student of the Year awards. Mrs. Vesselina Miryanova, a teacher of Bulgarian language and literature, and twelve- grade student Martin Todorov from the  "Ivan Vazov" Secondary school were awarded . The concert program included folk songs and cheerful dances.
