On March 23rd, 2022 "Ivan Vazov" Secondary school - Sopot hosted the first round, for Plovdiv region, of the National Competition "Folklore Braid". The folklore competition was attended by fourth and seventh graders studying choreography at "Ivan Vazov" Secondary school- Sopot, "Cyril and Methodius" - Karlovo and "Rayno Popovich" - Karlovo, "Hristo Smirnenski" Secondary school- Hissarya. According to the regulations, they presented 3 folklore samples of choice and judgment of the choreographers: horo, characteristic of the ethnographic field they present; dance to a song; Paidushko horo - 4th grade, Rural Shopsko horo - 7th grade.

Jury from AMTII "Professor A. Diamandiev - Plovdiv composed of: Ch. Assistant Dr. Blagovesta Kalcheva - Department of Choreography, Associate Professor Dr. Stefan Yordanov - Department of Choreography and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimo ​​Enev from AMTII-Plovdiv assessed the competencies, skills and creative abilities of dance groups. The official guest of the competition was Nelly Spasova, a senior art expert at the RWU of the Ministry of Education and Science - Plovdiv.

The students and their teachers received applause and diplomas from the jury.
