On the day of one of the most loved Bulgarian holidays - May 24th - the day of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius and the Bulgarian education and culture, “Ivan Vazov” square in Sopot was filled with children with bouquets for their favorite teachers, grateful parents and citizens. The celebration began with a greeting from the mayor of Sopot Municipality Deyan Doinov and consecration by the hierarch's deputy of the Karlovo Spiritual District Father Marko. The traditional Teacher of the Year and Student of the Year awards were presented. Kindergartens, Almadin Music School, “Nedelya Petkova” National School and “Ivan Vazov” Secondary school took part in the festive concert.

Seventh-graders from "Ivan Vazov" Secondary school led by Hristina Dicheva - choreographer, Vanya Uzunova - music teacher and Hristo Hristov - accompanist, presented a bunch of songs and dances "Folklore Braid". Deliana Valentinova Karagancheva from 7th grade was awarded the Student of the Year award. Winner of the Teacher of the Year award is Ralitsa Tsvetanova Doninska – an English teacher.
